Responsible Consumption Policy
Eastwood General Trading L.L.C. ("Eastwood", "we", "our" or "us") is committed to promoting the responsible purchase, delivery and consumption of alcohol and other age-restricted products.
This Responsible Consumption Policy forms part of the Eastwood Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside our Age Verification Policy, Privacy Policy and other Platform policies.
Our Commitment
Eastwood is committed to:
- responsible retail practices;
- compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- preventing sales to underage individuals;
- supporting safe and responsible consumption habits;
- maintaining high standards of customer safety and compliance.
We encourage all customers to make informed and responsible choices.
Responsible Consumption
Customers are expected to consume alcohol responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Customers should:
- know their personal limits;
- drink responsibly and in moderation;
- consume alcohol in appropriate environments;
- remain aware of the effects of alcohol consumption;
- seek medical advice where alcohol consumption may interact with medications or medical conditions.
Drinking and Driving
Eastwood strongly discourages driving or operating vehicles after consuming alcohol.
Customers should:
- arrange alternative transportation where necessary;
- use taxis, ride-hailing services or designated drivers;
- comply with all applicable road traffic laws.
Customers remain solely responsible for their actions after receiving Products.
Protection of Minors
Customers must not:
- provide alcohol to individuals under the legal drinking age;
- allow minors access to alcohol purchased through the Platform;
- use the Platform to obtain alcohol for underage individuals.
Customers are responsible for ensuring Products are stored safely and securely.
Safe Storage
Customers should store Products appropriately and securely.
This includes:
- keeping Products away from minors;
- keeping Products away from vulnerable individuals;
- following manufacturer recommendations where applicable;
- storing Products in suitable environmental conditions.
Eastwood accepts no responsibility for Products after delivery has been completed and accepted.
Intoxication
Eastwood reserves the right to refuse service where there are reasonable concerns relating to intoxication, safety or misuse.
Eastwood may:
- refuse Orders;
- refuse delivery;
- cancel transactions;
- suspend Accounts.
Such decisions may be made at Eastwood's sole discretion where permitted by applicable law.
High-risk or Suspicious Activity
Eastwood may review transactions that appear unusual, excessive or inconsistent with normal customer activity.
Eastwood may take reasonable steps including:
- contacting customers;
- requesting additional verification;
- placing temporary restrictions on Accounts;
- cancelling Orders;
- refusing future transactions.
These measures are designed to protect customers, the Platform and the wider community.
Customer Responsibility
Customers acknowledge that:
- alcohol may impair judgement, coordination and decision-making;
- alcohol may affect individuals differently;
- excessive alcohol consumption may create health and safety risks;
- Eastwood is not responsible for a customer's consumption decisions after delivery.
Customers assume full responsibility for their actions following purchase and delivery.
Health Considerations
Customers should exercise caution and seek professional medical advice where appropriate.
Alcohol consumption may not be suitable for certain individuals, including those who:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- are taking certain medications;
- have medical conditions affected by alcohol;
- have a history of alcohol dependency or substance misuse.
Eastwood does not provide medical advice.
Education and Awareness
Eastwood may from time to time provide information relating to:
- responsible consumption;
- product education;
- serving recommendations;
- safety guidance;
- legal requirements.
Any such information is provided for general informational purposes only.
Limitation of Responsibility
Nothing in this Policy creates an obligation on Eastwood to monitor customer behaviour following delivery.
Eastwood shall not be responsible for:
- misuse of Products;
- unlawful consumption;
- irresponsible consumption;
- third-party actions involving Products after delivery;
- customer decisions relating to consumption.
Breach of this Policy
Where Eastwood reasonably believes that a customer has breached this Policy, Eastwood may:
- issue warnings;
- suspend Accounts;
- terminate Accounts;
- refuse future Orders;
- take any other action reasonably necessary to protect the Platform, its customers or its business.
Changes to this Policy
Eastwood may amend this Policy from time to time.
Updated versions will be published on the Platform.
Continued use of the Platform following publication of updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
