The Mizuwari is a traditional Japanese serving ritual that transforms the tasting experience of a complex whisky like Hibiki 21. By slowly adding chilled water to the spirit, you lower the alcohol intensity and allow the delicate floral and fruity notes to bloom.

To prepare, fill a highball glass with large, clear ice cubes. Pour one part whisky over the ice and stir gently to chill the liquid. Slowly add two to three parts of high-quality, still mineral water, stirring once more with a long spoon.

This method is not about dilution, but about opening the whisky. It creates a refreshing, light, and incredibly aromatic drink that is perfect for appreciating the intricate blending craft behind this legendary Japanese expression.
